About the authors:
John Zola is a retired teacher from the Boulder Valley School District and was Director of School and University Partnerships at the University of Colorado Boulder School of Education. He is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned his education degree. John is also a curriculum designer and trainer for The Discussion Project. Jaye Zola is a retired teacher from the Boulder Valley School District and a former instructor at the University of Colorado-Boulder School of Education. John and Jaye helped to design and open New Vista High School in Boulder, a “break the mold” public high school where most of the ideas in Teaching as if Students Matter were implemented.
